Stuart Burgess has published over 200 scientific papers on design and biomechanics. He has led the design of the chain drive for the British Olympic Cycling Team for the last three Olympics and exhibited this work at the Royal Society. He has received many academic awards including: (i) the Clayton Prize 2019 (the top mechanical engineering prize in the UK); (ii) the Turner’s Gold Medal for spacecraft design; (iii) a Design Council Prize presented by the UK Minister of State for Trade and Industry; and (iv) the Wessex Scientific Medal for work on biomechanics.
